Emergency services are at the scene of a chemical spillage at a school in Co Down.

It happened at Glastry College in Ballywalter on Thursday.

It’s understood the NIFRS is currently at the scene.

A message from the school to parents and guardians advised that as a “precaution we are asking parents to collect pupils from school”.

“Pupils who cannot be collected will be supervised in our College Canteen which has been deemed a safe area.”

The great clear-up: two hours sleep a night as specialist crews race to re-open roads after Storm Éowyn.
