A Northern Ireland Electricity lorry has been left on its side close to a busy part of the M2 motorway outside Antrim.

The lorry was close to the Dunsilly roundabout slip when the incident happened on the Ballymena Road.

The PSNI, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service all attended the scene.

NIAS confirmed nobody was seriously hurt as a result.

“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 12:23 on Wednesday, 29th January 2025 following reports of an incident in the M2 area, Antrim,” a spokesperson said.

“NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic to the incident.”

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The Ballymena Road in Antrim is closed in both directions at the Dunsilly Roundabout off slip due to an overturned lorry. Please seek an alternative route.”

In a statement a spokesperson from NIFRS said: “Firefighters were called to reports of an overturned lorry on the Dunsilly Roundabout, Antrim.

“The driver was out on arrival of Firefighters and the scene was left with the PSNI. The incident was dealt with by 1:11pm.”
