Scent is scientifically proven to be one of the first things we notice when we meet someone new or enter someone’s home. It’s only natural that we’d want our homes to smell as good as the luxury perfumes we wear.
However, with the average price of fragrances skyrocketing in the past few years, committing to a new perfume can be a big decision. For those wanting to try before they buy, and embrace the fragrance in their homes before they purchase, Eflorist has shared a simple and easy hack for a home that smells of luxury and to help find out whether you like a certain scent.
Better still, it will only cost you mere pennies. Flower specialists at Eflorist say you can create your own fragrant air freshener with essential oils and bicarbonate of soda, which is available for as little as 65p.
All you need to do is add one tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda to a small bowl or dish. If you’re planning on displaying the air freshener, you may choose to purchase one that matches your home decor, but any small dish or pot will do the trick.
Then, stir five to six drops of an essential oil into the bicarbonate of soda with a spoon until it has thoroughly combined together. The bicarbonate of soda will absorb odours and freshen the air on its own, and the addition of the essential oils will help to add a fragrant and fresh scent to your home.
But what flowers or essential oils are the best for fragrance? The team at Eflorist has studied the world’s top five best-selling perfumes to reveal how you can capture their scents in your home using flowers and their extracts.
