Grease, food particles and baked-on gunk can leave oven racks looking unsightly and can even impact the taste of your meals. Although there are many effective oven cleaning products out there, they often contain harsh chemicals.

However, there’s a “powerful” product that a cleaning expert from the Instagram page @thecleangroup touts as a “kitchen hero”. In their cleaning tutorial, they stated this one product will “melt burnt-on oven rack grease” with “absolutely no scrubbing and no soaking”.

According to them, Fairy’s Skip The Soap spray can make your oven racks “look brand new” just by following their method, which was demonstrated in a post on The Clean’s Instagram page. To try this hack, begin by fully covering the grimy oven racks in foil and then warming them in the oven at a low temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.

This process will “soften all the burnt-on gunk”, making it a “dream to remove”. Next, unseal the foil, lavishly spray Skip The Soak, rewrap the racks completely in the foil and leave for 10 minutes, reports the Express.

Once time is up, discard the foil and use a moist sponge to clean the racks. The video shows that the grease comes off smoothly after these steps, without any hard scraping.

Commenters on the video were taken aback by these cleaning hacks, though some offered alternative cleaning tips. One user, @nicola.white.5458, suggested: “Use dishwasher tablets. Put them in the sink and it [the grease] literally dissolves.”

Another user, @sarahsh35, commented: “Dishwasher tablets work similarly to this and you don’t need to turn on your oven for it.” Another user offered a rather unusual tip that still involves a bit of elbow grease. According to @whittaker1939: “Throw them onto the lawn overnight.

“Better if the grass is a little long. You may need to turn them over and a little scrub but in reality, I find all these methods do.”

Although grass has some abrasive qualities that might help dislodge dirt and food remnants from oven racks, it’s not specifically intended for cleaning purposes and there is no solid proof it will effectively tackle tougher stains and grease.
