Clark Logan and Henry Walker are the only two Ulster players named in the starting line-up for Ireland Under-20s’ Six Nations opener against England on Thursday.
The Queen’s University pair have been named in Neil Doak’s run-on team for the clash with the defending champions at Virgin Media Park in Cork (kick-off 7.45pm).
Logan will make his first Six Nations appearance at scrum-half, while hooker Walker is one of six returning players from last season’s unbeaten campaign and is named at hooker.
There are three further Ulstermen on the bench, with Connor Magee making it an Ulster one-two at hooker, while tighthead prop Tom McAllister and utility back Daniel Green – who is predominantly a fly-half – are also included.
Connacht flanker Éanna McCarthy captains the side from number eight, with Walker joined in the front row by an all-returning cast of Alex Usanov and Alex Mullan, both of whom also featured last year as Ireland finished second.
Doak’s side will be looking to gain revenge on England, who pipped them to the title last season by a point after the two sides drew in Bath – which meant both finished the campaign without a loss – but the champions earned one more try-scoring bonus point during the series.
