Tesco has today, Tuesday, issued an announcement regarding more than 400 of its UK stores. The supermarket giant said it has made a “big change” to its online shopping services.
A spokesperson said that, in over 400 stores, “Tesco is creating more same day delivery slots for its customers by offering them from earlier in the day.” The retailer currently offers same day Click+Collect slots starting from 4pm and Home Delivery slots starting from 7pm.
But from today, at applicable stores, Click+Collect slots start from 12pm, while Home Delivery slots start from 1pm, giving customers more options to do their same-day shop. Tesco said this means it offers same-day slots which are at least four hours earlier than the earliest slot offered by any other full-line retailer.
Customers will follow the same booking process, with the newly available slots showing on the booking page with the option to place or amend their order by 8:45am on that day.
Tom Denyard, Tesco’s online managing director, said: “We are excited to have rolled out more same-day opportunities for customers to get an online slot, offering customers more spaces – and therefore more flexibility – than ever before. This allows them to book closer to their delivery or collection time and therefore improve our market-leading customer experience.”
