Jet2’s Twilight Check-in service is a unique offering at the departure terminal of only 10 airports across the UK. Eligible passengers will be able to drop off their bags a day before their flight, and get some added freebies in the process.

The airline operator highlighted this service is only available for certain people, but will allow them to drop off their bags at the airport between 4:30pm and 9pm the day before their flight. This could potentially make the security and boarding process on your travel day far quicker and less stressful.

Birmingham Live noted the process also only requires one person to drop off the bags for up to six people. This could be especially useful for families who won’t have to worry about holding their children as well as all their children’s luggage as they make their way through the airport on flight day.

Luggage that often causes stress and frustration at the airport, like sports equipment, can be checked in the day before through Twilight Check-In. People using the service can also enjoy some other perks, like discounted or free parking at seven of the eligible airports and the entire Twilight Check-in process is free too.

Ultimately, the service aims to make “your morning a little bit easier”, particularly for people who are living near or have booked a hotel at the airport by removing one big step from their to-do list before their morning flight. But there are some T’s and C’s.

In order to use the special check in process you must have:

  • A flight before midday
  • Checked in online between 28 days and 24 hours before your flight
  • Passports, boarding passes and other essential documents for everyone in your party
  • Be travelling from one of the 10 eligible airports

The following airports offer Jet2’s Twilight Check-in at the airline operator’s normal check-in desks:

  • Birmingham
  • Bristol
  • East Midlands
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow International
  • Leeds Bradford
  • Liverpool
  • London Stansted
  • Manchester
  • Newcastle

The service is available seven days a week, but not on December 25 and 26. The airline urged on their website: “Please remember to check all travel requirements before you go to the airport, and take all documents for your party to guarantee a smooth check in.”
