While it’s widely known that having a good skincare routine will help you slow down signs of aging while also help sooth any skin problems you might have, finding the right routine is often more challenging than expected.
Beauty guru BeautyByNori to the rescue – she has taken a trip to Boots and filmed her quest to assemble an entire skincare routine for less than £40.
Initiating her video in the store, Nori says, “Let’s do Boots must haves for under £40, let’s start with skincare,” before delving into the skincare aisle. “We are in the Boots skincare section and we are going to get a lot of our items from here. We need a moisturiser, SPF, we need an eye cream, toner, and a face wash.”
Her beauty haul commenced with the bargain Boots cucumber eye gel at just £1.50, or £1.35 if you have a Boots Advantage card, recommended for its depuffing magic, especially for those with sensitive eyes. “You can even use this as an undereye mask,” she said.
Nori then showed two more eye creams – the Caffeine Eye Cream (£6), which is good for banishing puffiness and dark circles, alongside the retinol variant, known for fighting off wrinkles and fine lines.
“I am 30 years plus, so I will be going for the retinol,” she announces while popping the £7 cream (or £.6.30 with Advantage card), into her basket.
Regarding toners, she selected the Boots Traditional Glycerine and Rose Water (£2.50 or £2.25 with Advantage card), stating: “Toners can be super, super simple and I would actually get this over the milky one from Byoma. Rosewater has amazing anti-aging properties and the glycerine has amazing hydrating properties, so this is the one that I’ll be picking up.”
Nori went on to say: “You can get a really affordable cream if you like, and this is a really good one from Boots” showing off the Boots Moisturising cream for £1.50, or £1.35 with an Advantage card. Nori also chose the Boots hypochlorous acid Deep Moisture Spray, also known as a moisturising spray, for £5, explaining it’s a moisture spray that’s also antibacterial.
When it comes to moisturisers, she shared her preference for double cleansing, so she decided to opt for the Oat Cleansing Balm, which costs £9, or £8.10 with an Advantage card. “I love oats in skincare products because it’s really good for sensitive skin,” she said.
Moving onto serums, Nori said: “We need some sort of active skincare serum. I have an issue with acne, blocked pores, and really big sebaceous filament on my nose, so I’ll be getting some salicylic acid – this is 2% which is really good to start off with” before adding the £7 (or £6.30 with an Advantage card) serum to her basket.
She also picked up some £1 (or 90p with Advantage card) skin wipes, and a Bondi Sands SPF 50 sunscreen for £7.99, before realising she had enough money left to choose a lip balm, going for the Boots mint-flavoured lip balm for £2.50.
Upon reaching the checkout, her total initially hit £44.99, however, after flashing her Advantage card for discounts, the price tumbled down to a more palatable £37.59.
“Under £40 and I managed to get extras like the serum and the lip balm,” she expressed her bargain triumph.
