Strictly Come Dancing sensation Vogue Williams has shared her mother’s blunt reaction to her recent conduct on her popular podcast.
During a recent episode of the Vogue and Amber podcast, Vogue and her sister Amber discussed their mother’s disapproval of their use of bad language, with their mum instructing them to “stop swearing”.
Vogue recalled the conversation with their mum, Sandra, saying: “I was speaking to her (their mum, Sandra) on the phone and she said to me ‘will you stop swearing on that podcast!'”
Amber also shared that their mum had called her to express her disappointment in another element of the podcast, recounting: “I was speaking to the mothership on the way home this evening and I said ‘I hear you’re listening to the podcast, it’s not for you,'” only for their mum to assertively respond: “It should be for everyone Amby! It should be for me, it should be inclusive. I’m ashamed, I’m ashamed”

However, Vogue humorously pointed out that their mum was actually the one who inadvertently encouraged their swearing, adding: “Mum you literally taught me to swear, I came home one day and I said ‘damn it’ and you said ‘Vogue, don’t say damn it, say f**k it’ and that’s where it came from. So actually Sandra if you’re listening. Everyone, Sandra taught us to swear from a very young age.”
The podcast hosted by Vogue has faced some scrutiny following a significant shift earlier this month when her husband, Spencer Matthews, chose to leave the show to concentrate on “other business interests and focus on my upcoming challenge.”
Amber has been filling in for him since his departure. After gracing the dance floor on Strictly Come Dancing last Christmas, Vogue is slated to make a comeback to television later this year.
She’s lined up to join ex-Love Island contestant Luke Mabbott on the Channel 4 programme, Renovation Rescue, stepping in for Loose Women’s Stacey Solomon, reports Dublin Live.
Away from her new role on Renovation Rescue, Vogue has previously appeared in Dancing with the Stars and Stepping Out as well as featuring in Bear Grylls: Mission Survive in 2015.
