Airbnb has unveiled the top 20 trending destinations guests around the world are adding to their 2025 travel bucket list. The trending list includes destinations that are surging in popularity, thanks to an increase in searches made by solo travellers, families, and group adventurers for trips taking place in 2025. It also includes the most wishlisted cities of 2024 that Airbnb predicts will continue to trend in the new year, including historic cultural spots such as Palermo, Seville and Kyoto.
As Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the Olympics and other major cultural and sporting events drove bookings this year, ‘experiential travel’ will continue to inspire adventures in 2025. Airbnb’s data shows that many of the search dates for these desirable destinations correlate with major events in 2025, including concerts, cultural festivals and major sporting events.
When it comes to top destinations for UK travellers, passion tourism is no doubt having an influence on a local level too, with Manchester – one of the key cities holding the Oasis reunion tour concerts – making the top ten list.
Showing a continued demand for dynamic city break destinations, Milan and Rome also came up high on the top ten list for British holiday goers, alongside coastal escapes – with UK travellers seeking out picturesque landscapes in destinations like West Sussex and Portrush.
Milton Keynes is also drawing in families with its accessibility to London and an exciting lineup of activities, from the thrill of indoor skydiving to the magic of its popular real snow slopes.
