Princess Kate stayed home with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as Prince William left the UK.
The Prince of Wales, 42, travelled to Monaco without his wife and three children to watch his beloved Aston Villa lose 1-0 to the hosts.
Also present at the match was Prince Albert of Monaco, who happens to be Princess Charlotte’s godfather.
William’s visit to Monaco came just hours after he was spotted in London visiting the homelessness charity Centrepoint.

It looked as if William was surrounded by several of his friends in the stands as the Princess of Wales remained in the UK.
Kate, 43, who battled cancer and underwent chemotherapy for much of last year, has begun a gradual return to public life.
Earlier this month, the mother-of-three stepped out at the Royal Marsden Hospital to thank the staff for their care during Kate’s treatment programme.
In a statement after the visit, Kate admitted she is looking forward to a “fulfilling year”.

On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales likely stayed at her Windsor home, Adelaide Cottage, with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
All three Wales children attend Lambrook School, located just a stone’s throw away from the family cottage.
Prince William recently revealed that it is only his eldest son, Prince George, who supports Aston Villa like his father.
The future King travelled to Birmingham last week where he met Villa supporters in a local Wetherspoons.

A lifelong Villa fan, Steve Jones, who met Prince William in Birmingham, said: “He asked many questions, he’s got a good level of interest.
“It was 95 per cent chat about Villa as that’s our shared interest, but a bit about his family.
“Young George is a Villa fan but he didn’t want all three to be Villa fans.”
Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are yet to accompany their father to a football match.
