A British woman is not letting critics bring her down after her face was tattooed by her fiancé.
Alitia Thoburn, 20, said she has a passion for getting inked and thought about getting a tattoo on her face.
Her 37-ear-old partner Jonathan Saunders, a tattoo artist, was doing work on her left arm when the decision came to continue the work further up her body and onto the left side of her face.
Thoburn recounted the time an old lady asked her, “What the f— have you done to your face?” The woman apparently followed the question up by calling her a “stupid b—-.”
Another person said no one will want to be with her.
Despite some harsh reactions to the tattoos, Thoburn said she’s happy with the way she looks.
“I don’t understand why people always thought that tattoos meant you are a thug or criminal, Thoburn told Britain’s Daily Star.
“I always thought it could be something positive like a memorial or something you simply enjoy. I’m lucky enough to have a face tattoo.”

Thoburn, from Bristol, England, began inking herself when she was 14 after buying a kit online. Four years later, she started an apprenticeship to become a tattoo artist.
She now works at a studio in Oxfordshire.
“The people who think I will regret my tattoos, let them (think that),” she responded to her critics. “I don’t care what they think.”
Thoburn added that she has plans one day to ink her entire body in a connected pattern.
“It will all be connected into one large body suit — it’s a work in progress. Everywhere will be tattooed eventually.
“I like to customize how I look. I don’t regret anything in my life because I wouldn’t be the same person.”
