If you thought there would be bad blood between the two men who headlined one of the biggest fights of all time, you would be wrong.
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, who squared off in the boxing ring just months ago, couldn’t have acted like closer friends than they did while attending an inauguration party for U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday.
The former foes were among many celebrities at the star-studded affair in Washington, D.C. and things got a bit wild.
In a video posted to social media, Paul shows off some impressive strength, hoisting the former heavyweight champion of the world onto his shoulders and walking around as the crowd goes wild.
Tyson can be seen putting his hands over his face in nervousness while Paul comes from behind and puts his head between the boxing icon’s legs before lifting him off the ground.
The “baddest man on the planet” raised his fist in celebration.
The 58-year-old Tyson ended his retirement last year to fight the 27-year-old YouTube star-turned-boxer. After being delayed from its original July date due to a medical emergency in which Tyson suffered complications from an ulcer on a cross-country flight, the two faced off in November at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
While the fight itself ended in a disappointing unanimous decision victory for Paul – Tyson clearly wasn’t healthy enough to compete against his much-younger foe – the event itself was a blockbuster, breaking streaming records on Netflix and racking in one of the biggest gates in boxing history.
Many were critical of the legitimacy of the contest, with Paul admitted after the fight that he was “carrying” Tyson through the bout and didn’t want to hurt the ex-champ.
Tyson and Trump have had a longstanding relationship, as the newly sworn-in president hosted many of the boxer’s fights at his hotel in Atlantic City.
Paul also was spotted at the event with his brother Logan, who appeared to be getting friendly with a potential rival – UFC star Conor McGregor.
The Pauls shared photos of themselves with the controversial Irishman, who also jokingly got cozy with the brothers’ mom, Pam, on a bus to the event.
In another clip posted to X, podcaster Theo Van can be heard joking to McGregor, “Keep your hands off Pam.”
McGregor and Logan are reportedly set to square off in a boxing exhibition in India later this year.
