Donald Trump counter-protesters have declared that it is “not Trump’s America” ahead of the incoming President’s inauguration, as they took to the streets to demonstrate against their new leader.

Thousands of left-wing supporters descended on central Washington in a Women’s March to voice their concerns for Trump’s return to office.

Speaking to GBN America reporter Steven Edginton, many of the women demonstrating hit out at Donald Trump, claiming he is a “felon” and a “liar”.

The protesters marched to the infamous Lincoln Memorial to voice their fury, and were met by Republican supporters and splinter groups as a result.

When asked if she believes it is now “Trump’s America”, one protester stated: “Oh, hell no, not at all. We have this popular vote thing and we have this electoral college thing. And if we’re simply talking about a vote, I mean we all had middle school where we had votes for class president.

“And it was like some stupid popular kid who would be voted in. We learned early that this happens, didn’t we? I’m not surprised, I’m very saddened. And I’m kind of sick about it.”

Another protester delivered a scathing verdict on the new President, fuming: “He’s an old, withered up liar, felon, criminal.

“Eventually, all of this will come to an end, because he’s not living forever, and he’s looking pretty sad, so we’re expecting that there’ll be another presidential funeral from his own demise sometime soon.”

However, she added: “We don’t ever hope for people to leave this world. But when there’s someone who carries such an evil message, it’s like, we’ve had enough, we’re done. Go to the retirement home. Have a critical event. Do something.”

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

When asked by Steven why she was at the protest, one Democrat declared that she was “fighting for democracy” and expressed concerns for “tech billionaires taking over the government”.

She explained: “I’m fighting for our democracy. I’m very worried about authoritarianism and the tech billionaires taking over our government.

“But I’m not afraid of Donald Trump. I think he’s lawless, and no one’s above the law. He needs to be punished for his crimes. He committed crimes, and it’s just a shame that he got re-elected because he’ll never see justice.

“But I’m not afraid, we’re all here together. We’ll stand up and we’ll overcome this. We’ll save our democracy.”

Throwing her defence behind Kamala Harris, one Democrat supporter warned that America is “falling into fascism” and that Harris could have kept democracy “on the right track”.

The protester told GBNA: “I have often thought that the bravest of us are the black women that have come forward to fight for democracy.

“And the Kamala Harris campaign, I felt that we could have trusted her to keep us on the right track and continue to be a democracy. Unfortunately, enough of my compatriots didn’t agree that we are now falling to fascism.”
