The animated adventure comedy, The Croods, is now available for free streaming on ITVX, allowing fans to enjoy the classic from their own homes once again.

After its broadcast on ITV1 today (Sunday, January 19) at 2:15pm, the beloved family film will be accessible on the streaming platform.

The film, a DreamWorks Animation production released in 2013, was directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco, who also developed the story with John Cleese.

A star-studded Hollywood cast, including Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman, provided voices for the characters.

Set in a fictional prehistoric era known as ‘The Croodaceaous’, the film follows the patriarch of the Croods, Grug, whose life is disrupted by the arrival of a genius named Guy. Guy’s revolutionary new invention threatens to change everything.

The Croods received numerous accolades, including nominations for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film, reports the Daily Record.

The Croods franchise took off with the original film’s success, leading to a Netflix series titled Dawn of the Croods in 2015 and a sequel, The Croods: A New Age, in 2020.

With a solid 7.1 rating on IMDb from 239,000 ratings and scores of 71% on the Tomatometer and 77% on the Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes, The Croods has won over audiences for years.
