Tom Holland has spoke about his visit to the Westcountry with his partner Zendaya, leaving fans thrilled. The Hollywood power couple, who are now engaged, were spotted in the St Austell area while celebrating Tom’s parents’ 30th wedding anniversary last year.

In a recent episode of the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett, Tom revealed that they stayed at the iconic Porthpean House, a beachfront property that sleeps up to 21 people and was featured in the film About Time, starring Rachel McAdams.

Tom also shared that the trip was to mark his parents’ 30th wedding anniversary on September 10, 2024, and discussed his childhood, career, and balancing life between the UK and US, where Zendaya is from. The Porthpean House website describes the idyllic setting: “Sleep with the soothing sound of waves lapping on the shore and potter barefoot through the garden to the beach. With uninterrupted views over the sheltered south coast of Cornwall.

“In the Petherick family for five generations, Porthpean House has a relaxed old-fashioned charm, acres of tranquil gardens just above the beach. The location for the Richard Curtis Film ‘About Time’. Sleeps up to 21 people in glorious bedrooms, many overlooking the sea; blissful for relaxed holidays, formal occasions, romantic weddings and family anniversaries.”

During their September trip, they were seen at a Polkerris restaurant, where they kindly posed for photos with fans outside a quaint café in Par, whose owner was unaware of their celebrity status.

Helen Woodward, owner of the café in Par where the pair visited told CornwallLive of her oblivious encounter with the A-listers: “I didn’t have a clue who they were,” she admitted.

They popped in unassumingly for breakfast, Zendaya opting for American pancakes topped with maple syrup and a side of hash brown, whilst Tom Holland chose the hearty ‘Zeppelin’ fry-up. Woodward described the duo as “absolutely lovely”, noting that their visit was brief, lasting about 20 minutes.

“They were just like a regular couple and apparently went to Asda after,” she remarked. On their choice of seating, she said, “They came in and I was serving a couple of other customers so I told them to take a seat and they went to sit down. I’ve only got a small cafe and I’ve got one big table that I can get about five people at and they went and sat there so I asked if they minded moving to a smaller table, in case I got a group come in.

“Then this other couple said to me ‘they are famous you know’ and I asked who they were and they told me he was Spider-Man. They were absolutely lovely. They were just a really nice couple. It was just them two.”

Clutching a takeaway box outside Sam’s On The Beach in Polkerris, run by local couple Emma and Sam Sixton, Dune and Euphoria star Zendaya was all smiles as she took pictures with fans at the beachside restaurant, best known for its seafood dishes and pizzas.

Sharing details of the visit to Facebook, Sam’s On The Beach said: “The sun has come back to beautiful Polkerris and with it some superheroes. These lovely superstars booked to dine with us last week.

“It was such a pleasure to host family and friends of Tom Holland and Zendaya. A relaxed chilled family and friends day with us at the Beach. They were kind enough to have their photos taken with some of their biggest fans.”
