Notts County manager Stuart Maynard has confirmed that Jevani Brown has returned to Bristol Rovers after an underwhelming loan spell at the League Two outfit.
Brown fell out of favour under Matt Taylor during pre-season and subsequently joined the Magpies on a season-long loan. However, the forward started just four times in League Two with his two goals coming in an FA Cup win over National League North side Alfreton Town.
The 30-year-old joined Rovers in summer 2023 under the management of Joey Barton and made 41 appearances across all competitions last term, scoring two goals and registering six assists.
It is currently unclear what the plan is for Brown following his return to BS7. In the summer it had looked as though the forward might have played his final game for the Gas with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Despite a 3-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday, Rovers are in need of attacking reinforcement following the long-term injury to Promise Omochere who is likely to be sidelined until April with a hamstring tear.
Speaking after County’s 3-0 win at Accrington Stanley on Saturday, Maynard said: “Jevani has gone back to Bristol (Rovers), and Josh Martin, we won’t be renewing his deal but I thank them for all of their hard work and when they were with us they were excellent.”
