Molly-Mae Hague has laid bare her personal struggles in her new documentary, Behind It All, revealing the challenges she faced in her relationship with boxer Tommy Fury, 25.

The former Love Island star, also aged 25, spoke candidly about her aversion to having a partner who drinks, a sentiment rooted in her teenage years. She emotionally disclosed: “I never ever wanted to be with someone that drank because my mum had a period of time in her life where she struggled because her marriage of 25 years had just ended and she turned to drink more than she should have.”

Reflecting on those difficult times, she recounted: “I was only about 14 or 15 when that happened and I saw my mum in some states”.

While Molly-Mae acknowledged that her ex-fiancé didn’t have an alcohol problem per se, she noted: “It’s just that alcohol caused problems for us.”

“It got to a point where I wasn’t looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much… At my sister’s wedding I pleaded with Tommy- I begged him – to not drink. It’s just really sad. It’s so sad. It affected me,” she said as she began to cry.

This revelation coincides with Tommy’s own admission in a Men’s Health interview regarding their break-up, where he confessed: “I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing.”

Molly-Mae previously teased that her documentary will “answer a lot of questions” about her recent separation from Tommy Fury, with whom she shares her daughter Bambi. The pair met on the hit reality show Love Island in its fifth series back in 2019 but went public with their split in August 2024.

At the launch event for her new Amazon Prime documentary Molly-Mae shared: “It is real life. Tommy and I have a baby together, and it’s a really hard thing that we have both gone through.”

The first three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All are currently available exclusively on Prime Video, with the remaining three set to be released in Spring 2025.
