Princess Anne looked baffled as she tested an AI device during her latest outing.

The Princess Royal, 74, travelled to Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire on Thursday where she stopped by the Fire Service College (FSC).

Princess Anne officially opened a new AI facility to help train firefighters.

This facility will excel in “virtual reality” immersive technology by using AI to replicate real-life scenarios with fire.

As a result, firefighters will be trained in a safer environment without the need to use actual fire.

Princess Anne visited the FSC in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

She was shown the headsets that trainees will use as well as haptic vests, which generate heat.

Anne’s baffled facial expression whilst being shown the headset quickly became popular on social media.

Clair Mowbray, director at the FSC, told the BBC that as a result of the new technology, firefighters will be “even better equipped to build the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to respond to a range of complex emergency situations.”

Earlier in the day, the Princess Royal visited Wings for Warriors, a charity training wounded, injured or sick servicemen and veterans as professional pilots.

The charity is based at Gloucestershire Airport Training Facility in Cheltenham.

Princess Anne’s home, Gatcombe Park, is located just a 35-minute drive away from the airport.

The Princess Royal was presented with flowers as she departed from the charity.

The director of Wings for Warriors, Mark Radcliffe, said Princess Anne was “very interested in the human side of what we do.”

He continued to tell the BBC: “She came along to open the veteran flying school, which is a new initiative we’ve set up at the airport.

“She took the time to make us all feel interesting and she was genuinely interested in all out of individual stories, it was a huge honour.”
