Amanda Holden has revealed she had a huge family row recently which saw doors being slammed.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge shares two daughters, Alexa (Lexi) and Hollie, with her husband, record producer Chris Hughes. During a discussion about “most frustrating parent habits”, Amanda told her Heart Breakfast listeners about an incident from the previous night involving her nearly 13-year-old daughter Hollie.

Despite describing her relationship with her eldest daughter, Lexi, as “super chilled”, she admitted that her dynamic with Hollie is quite different.

Amanda said: “I’m in the land now where my nearly 19-year-old and I are just like super chilled. She tells me everything. She’s like my little best friend, and then my other gorgeous daughter is nearly 13 and completely up the other end of the scale.

“Lots of shouting. She slammed the door on me last night because I very gently asked her to leave her phone downstairs. ‘Why are you punishing me? ‘ I was like, ‘It’s not punishment; I just want you to be able to get on with what you need to do upstairs without your phone’.

“She went mental; she slammed the first door and then she went all the way up the stairs and slammed the second door. You know, like she really banged it for me to hear it.”

Amanda recounted how Hollie reacted strongly, slamming doors as she went upstairs. However, she later apologised, saying: “Mummy, I’m sorry; I love you.”

She then joked she hoped her daughter’s teachers weren’t listening, who often give her “great reports”. That’s because her own report for her daughter “would not be good”.

Her comments follow the adventures she’s had with her friend, Alan Carr, on their show, ‘Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job’, where they took on the challenge of renovating a property in Costa Del Sol.

The TV duo hilariously struggled with language barriers, as Amanda recalled to Best magazine: “The funniest thing was when we went to a Spanish DIY shop and tried to ask for things like a chisel or a hammer.”

Alan added his insights, noting the hand gestures required sometimes became “quite X-rated”. After successful stints in Italy and Spain, Amanda reveals she is dreaming of Greece for their next destination but doesn’t rule out options “closer to home”.
