The latest episode of The One Show took an unexpected turn when presenters Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne were called out by one of their guests. On Tuesday’s edition of the popular BBC show, the stars of the new film, William Tell, graced the famous green sofa.
Actors Claes Bang, Jonah Hauer-King and Ellie Bamber were eager to discuss their experience of bringing the legendary tale to life on the big screen and the challenges they encountered along the way. However, before the interview could kick off, a brief clip was aired for viewers at home, providing some background on the fictional character William Tell and his remarkable story.
When the camera returned to the studio, actor Claes seemed less than pleased. Claes, who portrays the lead character William, remarked: “Now people don’t need to go and see the movie. It’s really a problem.”
Lauren tried to reassure him that the clip didn’t reveal too much, saying: “There’s no spoilers in that, it’s mainly a primer, Claes. Don’t panic, don’t panic! ” He responded: “Are you sure? You gave it all away! ” But Alex intervened, stating: “The movie is so much more! ” This seemed to placate Claes.
Despite this hiccup, the rest of the interview proceeded without a hitch. However, this wasn’t the only mishap with a guest during the episode, reports the Mirror.
Later in the show, singer Paloma Faith joined the programme to talk about her new podcast, Mad, Sad and Bad, which she records from the comfort of her own home.
Paloma delighted the hosts Alex and Lauren when she shared amazing tales from her interviews. However, as the show was wrapping up and Lauren attempted to tell viewers where they can tune into Paloma’s new podcast, there was a slip-up.
Lauren began, “You can listen to Paloma’s podcast, Mad, Sad and Bad from the 20th of January on all other…” but Paloma quickly corrected her by loudly interjecting, “28th.”
She then apologized, saying, “Sorry, everyone. It’s 28th before we all get in trouble! ” Lauren swiftly concluded with a word on time constraints: “That’s all we got time for tonight. Thank you to our guests!”.
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm
