On the latest episode of No Holds Barred, Postmedia’s Rob Wong and Postmedia wrestling writer Jan Murphy catch up with WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre. They talk to McIntyre about his experience at WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix, an impressive 2024 that saw him reach superstardom, and why he hopes to have at least one more match with John Cena.
2024 was a massive year for the 39-year-old who began the year winning his second career Elimination Chamber match in February, earning a World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins.
McIntyre would go on to defeat Rollins for the title at WrestleMania XL, but after the match was attacked by CM Punk which led to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and taking the title from McIntyre.
The incident would lead to and intense feud between McIntyre and Punk that included a trio of matches at SummerSlam, Bash in Berlin and Bad Blood. Punk would win two out of the three matches as the feud was highly regarded among fans and media alike.
By the end of the year, McIntyre reignited his rivalry with Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and the original version of The Bloodline with McIntyre beating Zayn at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.
2025 hasn’t started as well for the Scottish superstar, losing to Jey Uso in the debut episode of WWE RAW on Netflix.
It will be interesting to see where the rest of the year takes McIntyre as he could be in search of a third Elimination Chamber victory when the event comes to Toronto’s Rogers Centre on March 1st.
Who do you want to see McIntyre feud with this year?
