If you’re considering upgrading your TV this January, the latest update from Sky might be just what you’re looking for. As part of a revamp to its popular Sky Glass plan, new customers can now secure a significantly cheaper rate.

The cost has been reduced to just over 90p per day, with Sky slashing £96 off the price of its luxurious 4K TV and Essential TV combo, which is available to buy here. Now priced at £27 per month, new customers will save a total of £96.

This package includes a sleek 43-inch TV, Sky Essential TV, Sky Atlantic, Discovery+, and Netflix. However, the actual cost of the TV is much lower than it initially appears.

The 43-inch Sky Glass device accounts for £12 of the total £27 monthly fee – the remaining £15 covers the Essential TV portion of the plan. So, in reality, customers only pay around 40p per day for the TV, based on an average of 30 days.

These sets are renowned for their smart features and differ from standard TVs. The satellite-less device comes fully integrated with Sky, eliminating the need for annoying streaming wires, and includes a built-in Dolby Atmos sound bar for a cinematic surround sound experience.

If a 43-inch model doesn’t fit your space at home, there are other options available. Using the same pennies-per-day calculation, the 55-inch model comes to just 56p per day – or £17 per month – however you choose to view it. That’s a total of £32 when combined with the Essential TV bundle.

It’s important for anyone considering Sky packages to be aware that they come with a 24-month contract, leaving no room for flexibility (without incurring a fee) if you decide to cancel before the contract ends. Alternatively, EE and Virgin Media offer other TV streaming deals.

However, compared to prices in 2024, it is more expensive. Our tech team regularly shares deals with consumers, and as the Sky Glass set is high on our watchlist, it’s easy to spot a cheaper rate.

For instance, in a previous sale in May 2024, Sky sold the 65-inch model for £21 per month – not the current £22 – something potential buyers may want to bear in mind.
