A woman in her 80s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Newtownabbey on Monday.

Police said the crash between a car and pedestrian happened at around 6.15pm on the Doagh Road.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers attended, and the pedestrian, a woman aged in her 80s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

“The road was closed for some time but has since reopened.

“Anyone with information, including dashcam footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1306 of 13/01/25.”

Separately, a woman aged in her 70s died following a crash in Glengormley on Monday.

The PSNI said the woman died following the collision on the Antrim Road at around 5pm yesterday.

They confirmed she was a pedestrian and had been struck by a car.
