A much loved restaurant in Totterdown is the only Bristol venue to have been shortlisted at the prestigious 2025 Trencherman’s Awards, which celebrates the top restaurants, pubs and chefs in the South West.

No stranger to awards and accolades, Bank in Totterdown – known for its contemporary fire cooking – has been shortlisted in three categories of these awards. These include Best Restaurant and Best Newcomer, with head chef and co-owner, Jack Briggs-Horan, also being shortlisted for the Best Chef award alongside some of the most admired names in the industry.

With eight public-voted categories, the Trencherman’s Awards calls on the South West’s food lovers to ‘champion their favourite dining experiences across the region’. Having established a strong reputation and loyal following for its eclectic wood fired cooking, with an emphasis on social feasting, Bank will now rely on the support of its diners once again as voting opens to select this year’s finalists.

The final round of public voting will close on January 22, with all finalists set to be announced five days later on January 27. This year’s category winners will be revealed during a ceremony at Homewood country house hotel near Bath on March 24.

Dan O’Regan, owner and founder of Bank, said: “We’re always keen to see who’s made the Trencherman’s shortlists in January, so this is an exciting start to the year for Bank! Having been listed in the Trencherman’s Guide for the first time last year, we were delighted to make the cut for the Newcomer Award, but to be shortlisted in categories as prestigious as Best Restaurant and Best Chef is something else.

“To see yourself alongside some of the most respected names in the country – let alone the South West – means a lot. We want to say a massive thank you to the diners who continue to get behind us – not just in awards votes like this, but for coming out and helping make Bank what it is. You can’t have a neighbourhood restaurant without a strong community, so we feel very lucky to have such amazing support.”

This latest recognition comes following Bank’s success at the Bristol Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards back in December, where it was named Restaurant of the Year. Before that, Bank was named in The Good Food Guide’s Top 50 Sunday Roasts in Britain, and featured in SquareMeal’s Top 100 Restaurants in the UK earlier in the year.

Having recently extended the restaurant’s opening hours, BANK Bristol is open from Tuesday to Thursday 6pm – 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 10pm and Sundays from 12pm – 7pm. Diners can book via www.bankbristol.com.
