Former England striker Wayne Rooney is set to return to coaching next month, taking on a new role as ambassador for Football Escapes.
The Manchester United legend will lead coaching sessions for children during the February half term break at Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
Football Escapes, which bills itself as “the ultimate family holiday and football experience,” has brought Rooney on board to work with young players between February 17 and February 21.
The organisation promises participants “the opportunity to train with one of football’s greatest icons.”

Families looking to participate in the Dubai coaching experience with Rooney will need to budget carefully.
The Football Escapes programme costs between £4,650 and £8,650 for a family of four.
The sessions will take place at the prestigious Jumeirah Beach Hotel, offering children a unique opportunity to learn from the former England captain.

This marks Rooney’s first coaching venture since leaving Plymouth on New Year’s Eve, having been axed following a difficult stint in charge.
His tenure at the Devon club ended following a disappointing run of just five victories in 25 matches.
The poor results left Plymouth struggling in the relegation zone of England’s second tier.

The unsuccessful spell at Plymouth has dealt a significant blow to Rooney’s managerial reputation.
Speculation continues about Rooney’s long-term career plans following his Plymouth exit.
The former striker appears to maintain aspirations in coaching, despite his recent setback.
However, there are suggestions he could follow several former Manchester United teammates into punditry.

“We were only 17 and we were going for a Chinese… and I don’t know if we were arguing or something on the way and I said ‘I don’t want to go for a Chinese’ so he stopped at the petrol station, come in and come out.
“‘I was going to ask you in the Chinese’ and now when I think of it I’m glad he never asked me in that Chinese but yeah we went back to my mums and had corned beef hash for tea.”
She continued: “He’s not very good a keeping secrets, I knew it was going to happen but I didn’t think it was [that night].”
