Following pitch inspections on Saturday morning, both AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Club Championship semi-finals will go ahead as planned this afternoon.

Cold weather over the last few days had cast doubt over the matches, but it has been confirmed that the clashes between Dr Crokes and Errigal Ciaran and Coolera Strandhill versus Cuala will be played.

The clash between Dr Crokes and Errigal Ciarán already been moved once this week, from O’Moore Park to Newbridge, after the pitch at the Portlaoise venue was deemed unplayable.

Both of the AIB club senior football semi-finals were set to be played last Sunday, but were postponed the day before because of unplayable pitches amid freezing January conditions.

GAA chiefs will be relieved that the weather has relented to ensure the matches have got the green light and both will reach a conclusion Saturday, with extra-time to be played if required.

The All-Ireland final will take place at Croke Park on Sunday, January 19, with a throw-in at 3.30pm.
