Prince William and Princess Kate have reached 1.5million likes on their latest Instagram post, marking Catherine’s 43rd birthday on January 9.

The Black and White photo of the Princess of Wales is the most liked upload from the royals since Kate’s emotional three-minute video where she announced she had completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment in September.


In the video, which hit over 2.4million likes, George, Charlotte and Louis were recorded playing in the woods, on the beach and in the sea with their parents.

The grandchildren of King Charles were recorded bonding with their grandparents, Michael and Carole Middleton, while Kate narrated her journey through the process.

In the Waleses latest post, personally written by Prince William, the family hailed Catherine’s “strength” over the 12 months.

The statement read: “To the most incredible wife and mother.

“The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable.

“George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W”

The Prince of Wales’s personal signature indicated to fans that the message was written directly by himself.

Royal fans flooded the comment section wishing the mother of two a happy birthday.

One user wrote: “The Princess is so incredibly admirable and inspiring! And embodies dignity, grace, kindness, resilience, humility, and beauty. She is such a wonderful role model. Wishing her the happiest of birthdays and the best possible health!”

Joining the birthday wishes were Kate’s younger brother, James Middleton, and Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who both sent a clear message of support.

Kate and William have navigated a “brutal” year following the announcement that the princess would be stepping temporarily back from royal duties.

The Princess of Wales announced that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in March.

The royal highlighted in her message the careful and delicate manner in which she and Prince William told their children about her health condition.
