Northern Ireland forward Liam Boyce is set to leave Hearts and is being linked with a move to Derry City.

Reports in Scotland suggest that the 33-year-old is on his way out of the Edinburgh club and is in talks with the Candystripes with a view to a move this month.

The Belfast man signed for Hearts five years ago this month but has been restricted to just three starts this season across the club’s 22 games.

The Daily Record report that discussions with Derry are being held at the moment, with Boyce opening up earlier this week on how difficult this season has been in the final year of his contract.

“I just want to play football. I train, try and stay ready. It’s difficult, I think I should be playing,” said Boyce, capped 28 times for Northern Ireland.

Tiernan Lynch’s Derry City begin their 2025 campaign away to champions Shelbourne on February 14 as they target a first league title since 1997.
