Tired of scouring the internet for cheap vacation packages and affordable all-inclusive resorts or scrolling through travel sites looking for cost-effective places to travel? 

A new report from Skyscanner found more than 86 per cent of Canadians obsess over picking the perfect destination for their next vacation — and 95 per cent admit cost is a major factor. So the leading global travel app unveiled some of the most budget-friendly destinations for 2025.

By analyzing millions of flight bookings and calculating the median return economy seat price for all departure cities within the market, the flight comparison website was able to create a list of the 10 cheapest places to travel. And while the report doesn’t cover things like accommodation or food and drink, it zeros in on destinations that will save Canadians a good chunk of change on airfare.  

Skyscanner’s list highlights 10 destinations you can fly to for less than $700 round trip, because your next great vacation doesn’t have to break the bank.

Fort Myers, United States

If white-sand beaches and island-hopping adventures are your thing, this popular Florida destination will top your list. According to Skyscanner, Canadians can fly there from $246.50 on average. Explore culinary delights or get back to nature with outdoor activities. If your goal is simply to soak up as much sun as possible, the area has over 50 miles of shoreline. 

St. John’s, Newfoundland

The Vikings were onto something when they landed here 1,000 years ago. Standing on the very eastern tip of North America, St. John’s offers a colourful mix of historic charm and the majestic beauty of nature. Book a tour and experience icebergs, a gaggle of puffins or simply marvel at the rugged coastline. You can travel to St. John’s from $263.50.

Turin, Italy

Italy is famous for tourism, but you can forgo the usual crowded stops and explore the charms of Turin, a city in northern Italy from $289. Journey through history as you visit the many royal residences and museums, such as Palazzo Reale Di Torino, a palace, now museum, filled with art and armaments.

Boston, United States

San José, Costa Rica
