Emphasising affordability and health benefits, Dean shares his secrets: “It costs a fraction of getting a takeaway and, as a bonus, it’s healthier too.”

Here’s how dean makes his air fryer fakeaway:

– One onion, diced.

– A green pepper, de-seeded and diced.

– Garlic and ginger paste.

– 2 tbsp black bean paste.

– 100ml beef stock.

– 1 tbsp honey.

Method

To begin crafting this tasty dish, start by tossing the pork mince into the air fryer drawer along with the diced onion. Dean notes, “This is absolutely jam-packed full of flavour and because it has a little bit of fat in it already, we don’t need to add any additional oils.”

Next, mix in the diced green pepper followed by the garlic and ginger paste.

Once these are combined, set the air fryer to cook for 12 minutes at 200C, allowing the pork to caramelise delightfully. After the initial cooking stage, introduce the black bean paste, beef stock, and honey to complete the transformation into a delightful fakeaway that challenges your usual takeaway choice.

He then adds dark soy sauce to the mix and cooks it at 200C for five minutes. Once cooked, Dean incorporates a nest of cooked egg noodles – great for portion control – into the pork air fryer drawer using tongs until they’re coated in the sauce. The dish is then garnished with spring onions once plated.
