Northern Ireland international Aaron Donnelly has signed a three and a half year deal with Scottish Premiership side Dundee.
The 21 year-old has left Premier League club Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee. If international clearance is received on time, Donnelly will be available to play in Thursday night’s match against Rangers.
Donnelly spent the second half of last season on loan at the Dee, making 21 appearances. This term, the defender enjoyed a loan stint at League Two side Colchester United, where he played 22 times.
The Magherafelt man said: “I am absolutely delighted to be back at the club. As soon as I knew there was interest from the club it was a no-brainer to come back up here. My time here was excellent last season, really successful and I hope to pick up where I left off.
“There was a real connection with the fans and the players last season and I’m looking to repay them for the great support and I can’t wait to get back out in front of them.
“I am really looking forward to seeing the fans again at Dens Park on Thursday night and make sure to bring the noise.”
Aaron made his international debut for the Northern Ireland in June, when he featured in the 2-0 friendly win over Andorra.
The centre-back made the move to the City Ground from Dungannon Swifts in 2019 before signing his first professional deal with the club in 2021. He played one senior games for Forest, and enjoyed a loan stint at Port Vale in 2023.
