As we settle into 2025, many are planning holidays and city breaks to escape the cold, dark winter days as well as looking forward to getaways in the summer months ahead. But before embarking on a restful break, it’s important to understand the rules around luggage allowance, so you can sit back and relax as soon as you get to the airport.

Passengers who fail to comply with allowances, restrictions, and rules, may face a hefty fine before even leaving the country, so it’s best to be certain you meet the requirements. So if you’re looking to avoid extortionate charges, here’s the latest 2025 cabin bag allowance for Ryanair, EasyJet, TUI and Jet2 – all of which operate flights and holidays from Bristol Airport.

Ryanair

All passengers have an allowance of one small bag. It must fit underneath the seat in front of you, with maximum dimensions of 40 x 20 x 25cm.

Passengers have the option to purchase an additional carry-on bag. This can weigh up to 10kg, and must be stored in an overhead locker, with maximum dimensions of 50 x 40 x 20cm.

easyJet

All passengers can bring one small cabin bag on board. It can be a maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles and wheels) and must be kept under the seat in front of you.

You can also purchase a large cabin bag with maximum dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25 cm, (including any handles and wheels). The maximum weight allowance is 15kg.

Jet2

On their website, Jet2 state: “You may carry on board one piece of hand luggage free of charge, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg and is no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including any wheels and handles. If your hand luggage weighs more or is larger than this, it will need to be checked into the aircraft hold, and you may have to pay an additional charge.”

You can also bring a small personal item onboard, such as a laptop, handbag, or airport purchase, but this must be placed underneath the seat in front of you.

TUI

TUI’s website states for flights, passengers can take one piece of hand luggage. Each piece of hand luggage can weigh up to 10kg, with maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm. Passengers can also bring one small personal item, such as laptop bag, a backpack, or a handbag. It has to be small enough to fit under the seat in front of you.

The airline also advises that you must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself.
