Since her split from Eamonn Holmes in May, Ruth Langsford has been on an upward path, reportedly losing around a stone and a half. The 64-year-old presenter’s transformation hasn’t gone unnoticed, with her Instagram followers showering her with praise in recent months.

Laurel Alper, a personal trainer, has shared her thoughts on Ruth’s appearance, telling Woman Magazine: “Ruth looks like she’s slimmed down from a size 16 to 14. She’s probably lost about 1st 7lb – you can really see she’s lost weight across her middle, thighs and face.”

The Loose Women panellist has openly discussed her weight and diet over the years, and recently shared a glimpse of her “healthier” start to the year on Instagram. Alongside a packed lunch of boiled eggs, turkey, and salad, the presenter added her usual green juice, made up of a variety of ingredients.

She told fans: “I take this to work most days. [It] stops me grabbing unhealthy, processed food. Even when you make a healthy choice and buy a salad, in my experience, they’re mostly leaves!”.

In addition to her dietary efforts, Ruth aims for 10,000 steps daily, with the help of her dog Maggie, and also enjoys high-intensity workouts.

Despite her efforts to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, the mother-of-one recently opened up about the difficulties she’s faced with her body after menopause. While on Loose Women, she expressed: “I’ve never really had huge problems with weight gain, I’ve been very lucky.

“I like good food so I eat well and I cook, but the weight gain and the shape change in menopause I’ve really struggled with, and I try really hard.”

Nevertheless, fans have been loving Ruth’s “glow-up” amid her divorce proceedings. The presenter is understood to be single, while Eamonn, 65, has started a new romance with relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42.

During a Loose Women segment on family events involving divorced parents, Ruth made a comment about their divorce for the first time.

She said: “I think it’s very selfish when you hear parents say, ‘Well if they are divorced then, I’m not coming to your wedding if he’s coming’ or ‘If she is there’ and I just think it’s so selfish isn’t it, because it is their day.”

Joining the conversation, Mariella Frostrup added: “That’s a whole other subject isn’t it? How to divorce well.” Ruth humorously replied: “Oh, tell me about it,” prompting laughter from the audience.
