A man has suffered serious injuries after three vehicles collided on the A4 in Keynsham. Two men were taken to hospital following the crash, which took place at around 7.35am today, Monday, January 6, near Broadmead Roundabout and left the Keynsham bypass closed in the westbound direction.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the road was closed between the Broadmead and Hicks Gate roundabouts. Avon and Somerset Police said two people were taken to hospital.

One of them men sustained life-changing but not life-threatening injuries, Avon and Somerset Police said. Officers are now appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at 7.35am today (6 January) to a report of a collision involving three vehicles on the Keynsham bypass, near the Broadmead roundabout. Emergency services attended and officers closed the westbound Keynsham bypass between the Broadmead and Hicks Gate roundabouts. The road has since reopened.

“Two men were taken to hospital for treatment, one of whom suffered injuries believed to be potentially life-changing, but not life-threatening.
