Viewers of The Masked Singer UK are convinced they’ve cracked the identity of the celebrity behind the Spaghetti Bolognese costume. The sixth series of ITV’s wild guessing game returned to our screens on Saturday (January 4) night, introducing 12 new characters ready to take the stage.

In a twist to the show, celebrity detectives Jonathan Ross, Mo Gillian, Maya Jama, Davina McCall and special guest Sir Mo Farah were given the chance to choose the running order. Teeth, Snail, Tattoo, Kingfisher, Spaghetti Bolognese and Dressed Crab were all selected to perform during the first show, sparking speculation among viewers about the famous faces hidden beneath the extravagant costumes.

After being chosen by Sir Mo, Spag Bol took to the stage to deliver a rendition of Geri Halliwell’s hit Look at Me. Before their performance, a video clip played revealing some clues about their true identity.

As Spag Bol dropped various hints, Davina was heard saying “not really Italian, right? ” with Sir Mo agreeing: “Putting an accent on.”

The character revealed: “I haven’t always been known as Spag Bol, it has been shortened”, which left Maya pondering: “Maybe they’ve got a nickname”. Spag Bol also hinted: “This dish is enjoyed around the world” leading Maya to suggest: “Maybe world famous”, reports the Mirror.

Later in the video, two tennis rackets and five tennis balls marked with 06:00 could be seen laid out on a table. The character also dropped the phrase “hopelessly devoted”, which Jonathan swiftly recognised as a line from the musical film, Grease. Following Spag Bol’s act, host Joel Dommett sought the panel’s opinions on the identity of the masked singer.

Jonathan’s hunch was TV presenter Anika Rice, Sir Mo leaned towards tennis ace Emma Raducanu, Davina thought it might be Julia Bradbury, Mo speculated about Welsh star Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Maya Jama guessed Judy Murray, Andy Murray’s mother. Spag Bol then offered up a cryptic clue: “Spag Bol is delicious it has to be said, but spilled on the floor it can stain it quite red.”

This hint had Mo guessing that comedian Ruby Wax could be behind the mask. Yet, viewers are certain they’ve cracked the case. Some suspect Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway, while others echo Davina’s guess of Julia Bradbury.

On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Spag bol is Julia Bradbury #MaskedSingerUK.” Another chimed in: “Spag Bol is Julia Bradbury in the #MaskedSingerUK The Greek boots, walking boots and stick and the early start. Not sure about the tennis connection though.”

Another concurred: “Julia Bradbury is a good shout. She likes walking and there were walking boots as a clue #MaskedSingerUK.”
