Davina McCall has been forced to reconsider her priorities after a health scare brought about a crucial “realisation” for the popular presenter. At 57, Davina is in recovery from an operation to remove a benign brain tumour.

Doctors identified a colloid cyst within her brain that measured approximately “14 mm wide” which “had to come out”. The renowned face of ‘The Masked Singer’ appears to be on the mend nearly two months since this health scare first surfaced.

Last month, Michael Douglas, who is Davina’s 49 year old partner, shared news of her plans to gradually return to her professional commitments around mid-January. In what marked her first public engagement since undergoing surgery, Davina was overcome by emotion during a heartfelt speech at a Brain Tumour Research Campaign event.

Embracing the audience, she admitted: “I’m crying already, that didn’t go well,” and proceeded to elaborate on her deeply personal connection with the issue at hand, including the loss of her sister to a brain tumour in 2012, and her own recent encounter with a similar challenge.

Sources close to Davina suggest that this brush with illness has transformed her perspective, inspiring a desire to cherish time with loved ones and perhaps adopting a slower pace of life, including fewer work commitments.

A source told Heat magazine that the TV personality is reevaluating her once unrelenting schedule, which spanned television engagements and brand partnerships alongside her devotion to fitness, reports Gloucestershire Live.

Despite struggling with short-term memory loss after her surgery, presenter will return as a judge on the latest series of The Masked Singer UK on ITV1 at 7pm on Saturday, January 4.

The source indicated: “Now she’s had time to reflect, and she’s realised what she wants is a simpler life and to spend quality time with the people she loves as well as more rest and downtime.”

Davina, mother to Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18, from her first marriage, has reportedly made the decision that “health comes first”. The star is now believed to feel as though she has been “put on the planet for a reason”.

She also reportedly thinks about her sister Caroline “every day”. Caroline tragically passed away in 2012 after being diagnosed with lung cancer, which later spread to her brain, resulting in two brain tumours.
