Good Morning Britain viewers were united in their reaction as a heated debate unfolded live on air during a segment about Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix show.

The Duchess of Sussex unveiled her new lifestyle series on Thursday (January 2), which Netflix describes as a blend of “practical how-to’s and candid conversation”.

Titled With Love, Meghan, the show is set to premiere on January 15 and will feature eight 30-minute episodes with celebrity guests including actress Mindy Kaling and former Suits colleague Abigail Spencer.

In the newly released trailer, Meghan is seen adding finishing touches to a cake with raspberries and collecting honey in California, where she resides with Prince Harry and their two children.

Kate Garraway and Adil Ray welcomed entertainment journalist Stephanie Takyi and activist Imarn Ayton onto the GMB set on Friday (January 3) to talk about the Duchess’s latest venture, but the fiery discussion didn’t go down well with viewers.

Imarn criticised Meghan for a lack of authenticity and questioned her decision to wear “baggy jeans” in the show, while Stephanie defended Meghan, suggesting it was high time the public saw the “real Meghan”.

Disgruntled viewers took to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their exasperation. One viewer wrote: “Another pointless Meghan segment.”

Another questioned: “Why do you at @GMB feel the need to bang on about Meghan Markle?” A third commented: “Meghan! Who cares? ” While a fourth lamented: “Ahhh….end of the week on #GMB and it’s Meghan bashing time.”

After making her return to Instagram with the handle @meghan, the Duchess has announced the upcoming show, posting a trailer on her new account with much excitement. She exclaimed: “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it.”

Megan Markle posted a candid clip of her dressed in white, jogging along a cloudy shoreline to write the year 2025 in the sand, before skipping away.

The second post brought to light a sneak peek of her forthcoming programme, capturing Meghan indulging in cooking at home, flower shopping, and sharing laughter and meals with pals. Meghan, who is also known for her acting career, married Prince Harry in 2018.

The couple declared their independence from senior Royal roles in 2020 and resettled in California.

Since relocating, they’ve launched a production house and charity foundation and have engaged in a number of projects, including producing a Netflix documentary detailing their romance titled Harry and Meghan.

In April, Archewell, their media entity, revealed two series in the works; one being With Love, Meghan, which is a celebration of “the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining, and friendship”, and another exploring professional polo which premiered in December.

Previously, Meghan hosted the Spotify podcast Archetypes, focusing on challenging female stereotypes, and rolled out a lifestyle brand called American Riviera Orchard in 2024.
