A man faces charges, after police alleged a 15-year-old girl fell prey to a sex trafficker.
When officers descended on the York St.-Bremner Blvd. area in downtown Toronto on Monday, they arrested a man who allegedly trafficked a 15-year-old girl from Durham Region.
With a search warrant, police also seized drugs and cash at a residence.
Shaun Fairfax, 25, of no fixed address, faces several charges, including trafficking a person under 18, and material benefit from sexual services under 18.
Toronto Police look for distraction thieves
Four suspects fled from a store in the Markham Rd.-Steeles Ave. area after stealing cash and merchandise, according to Toronto Police.
Officers responded Dec. 6 to a call for a theft after two male suspects and two female suspects entered a store and took turns distracting an employee so they could rip off the retailer.

Cops bust alleged robber at Canadian Tire store
A thief was allegedly nabbed after breaking into a Canadian Tire store in Oshawa, say Durham Regional Police.
Officers said they were called to the retail outlet, at 1333 Wilson Rd. N., after a burglar had broken into the store.
A suspect was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
Police also alleged the same suspect was linked to a previous break-and-enter at the same store.
Tyler Leo Lazure, 40, of Oshawa, is charged with two counts of breaking and entering, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police warn of texting scams
The OPP say the increase in photo radar and other automated speed enforcement devices has resulted in fraudsters trying to cash in on driving violations.
In December, police were contacted by people who were sent bogus text messages about traffic tickets from what appeared to be the Ontario government.
“As members of the public become more informed and educated about fraud, fraudsters are becoming
more sophisticated,” police said in a release.
“Police are strongly recommending that people slow the process down and verify all information that they receive before proceeding.”
Police say if a driver is ticketed for speeding using these devices, they will not receive a text message. The ticket will be mailed to the registered address of the vehicle’s owner.
