A Chilliwack home was ransacked with up to 25 guns and a significant amount of currency stolen during the holidays, says Chilliwack RCMP.
Investigators said many of the firearms stolen from the 4000-block of Lyardon Road were long guns, taken along with a significant amount of Vietnamese dong.
Police did not say how much money was stolen nor why the guns were at the property.
It’s believed the break-in took place between Christmas Day and Friday. Investigators also believe two vehicles may have been involved: a small white car and a Ford diesel pickup truck.
Police are asking anyone who works in currency exchanges to be on the lookout for anyone trying to exchange large amounts of Vietnamese currency, called dong.
Anyone with information about the theft or anyone who recognizes the vehicles should contact Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file 24-55860.
