We have now had all of the UK bank holidays listed for 2024 and, with many people set to return to work soon, it makes sense that some may be wondering when we can expect to be off in 2025. The new year begins with a bank holiday – New Year’s Day, January 1.

After this, though, there’s quite the wait for the next one. There were eight bank holidays in England and Wales this year, and the same applies for 2025.

However, there’ll be a three-week-long change next year. The first bank holiday after January 1 fell on Friday, March 29. This is because Good Friday fell on the final Friday of March, with Easter two days later – Sunday, March 31.

In 2025, Easter won’t fall until Sunday, April 20. Meaning people will have to wait some three weeks longer for their next bank holiday, after January 1. When Easter falls depends on the lunar season, as Easter takes place on the first Sunday after the full Moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox.

Bank holidays will fall on Good Friday, April 18, and Easter Monday, April 21. There’ll then be two bank holidays in May, another in August, and a final two in December.
