Most of us haven’t had Christmas dinner yet or settled down to watch the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, but that hasn’t stopped a host of big name retailers launching their Boxing Day sales already. Bargain hunters can already snag some hefty discounts without leaving the house at sites including Dyson, Shark, Ninja, Boots, Dunelm, Debenhams and Oodie.

As a shopping expert who’s been covering many of the biggest brands for years, I keep a close eye on prices and what’s notable about Boxing Day sales for 2024 so far is that the last-gasp sales of the year are actually offering some of the most substantial deals, with many matching or even surpassing Black Friday. Here are my top tips on retailers to check out early and worth sneaking a peek at on your phone in front of the festive TV.

Dyson

If you’re interested in high-powered hair gadgets, these are the standout deal in Dyson’s Boxing Day sale, along with heaters, air purifiers and, of course, the iconic vacuums that started it all, reports Wales Online.

Beauty enthusiasts can enjoy limited edition colours and complimentary extras with purchase on a host of bestsellers, alongside £50 off the Dyson Airstrait. There’s also £70 off the Supersonic hairdryer plus a free storage case. Elsewhere, those keen on spring cleaning early for 2025, there’s a massive £170 off the Gen5Detect vacuum while their entry level V8 model is £120 off, bringing it down to £209.

Boots

Boots pressed the button on their sale on Christmas Eve with discounts of up to 50% off. Inevitably, with Boots a go-to for gifting there’s plenty of discounts on gift sets, perfume and other treats worth tucking away for presents through the year, although there’s some great beauty and skincare deals included too.

My top pick is The Future Renew Collection five piece gift set that gets shoppers an incredible £165 worth of premium skincare essentials for £57.96. The set, which includes serum, night cream, day cream, SPF and eye serum, is reduced to £67.96 but shoppers can get an additional £10 off with the code NO7SAVE10. According to the site hundreds of shoppers have bought it already since the sale went live and it’s one I’m expecting to sell out.

Dunelm

Dunelm has reduced more 16,000 products by up to 50% in their huge end of season sale ranging from homewares to furniture and gifts. If you’re looking to declutter in the New Year there’s some creative storage ideas with discounts of up to 50% including Ottomans and shelving.

I love this nest of tables reduced by 30% to £55.30 but for me spring always feels like a great time to refresh bedlinen and towels and the Dunelm sale is a great place to do that without it costing the earth. This pretty floral duvet cover set comes in a range of sizes and colours and is reversible and half price.

Ninja

The kitchen gadget experts are wrapping up a busy year in which they’ve launched dozens of new products with a sale on many of the most-popular lines. While not all the discounts are better-than-Black Friday, there are still savings of up to £90 on many of their best-loved air fryers and multi-cookers.

Meanwhile, the Ninja DoubleStack, which has a narrow footprint but double height for cooking and proved a hit with shoppers struggling for counter spaces in smaller kitchens, is not only £70 but also comes with freebies thrown in including silicone tongs and an apron.

Shoppers are also rushing to pick up some of the brand’s lower ticket items for a touch of luxury at a cheaper price point, including knife blocks, kettles (including this fast boil one which is now at its lowest ever price) and high tech insulated travel mugs reduced by 33% to £19.99.

Shark

Shark, a brand known for its high-quality cleaning appliances, has announced chunky discounts of up to £150 on some of its most popular vacuum cleaners in its Boxing Day sale. This includes models designed for pet hair and high-powered robot vacuums.

The WandVac cordless vacuum, which was sold out during Black Friday, is beloved by Mrs Hinch and back in stock. Now priced at £99.99, offering customers a saving of £80, it’s the thing on this list most tempting me to bust out my debit card. Elsewhere, beauty fans can also enjoy deals on the brand’s SpeedStyle hairdryer and SmoothStyle hot brush, as well as the Wicked-themed FlexStyle multi-tool, now reduced to £229.99.

Debenhams

Debenhams may no longer have a physical presence on the high street, but savvy shoppers know that the brand’s website is a great place to find huge discounts on both branded and unbranded goods. Their Blue Cross sale offers up to 70% off, with an extra 20% off 10,000 lines.

From perfume to bedlinen, furniture to cosy winter fashion there’s something for everyone but this Stuhrling designer watch is arguably one of the most eye catching discounts. Reduced from £2,295 to £267, this 45mm automatic timepiece comes in four different colours, offering something for everyone.

Oodie

Oodie, known for offering some of the biggest discounts on Black Friday, has once again thrilled shoppers with significant savings on many of their hero products. While not all items are included in the Oodie Boxing Day sale, there are still better-than-Black Friday savings to be had.

Highlights include the original Oodie reduced to £29, making it 55% off and Outdoor Oodies down to £54.50.

Amazon

Somewhat inevitably, the best discounts on the internet giant’s site so far are on their own brand devices, which may seem like a narrow selection until you consider that in recent years this has grown to include everything from tablets to smart TVs, as well as brands like Ring and Blink smart home and security tech.

If you’ve not succumbed to the urge to get one of the newest generation of Echos now is a good time – it’s currently reduced by 55% taking it down to less than £50.

Ugg

A festive favourite for many, Ugg has slashed the price of some of its top-selling slippers by 30%, with comfy Cosy clogs available in various colours and sizes reduced from £140 to £98. There are plenty of other choices in Ugg’s Winter Sale, with indoor and outdoor footwear for men, women and children all heavily discounted.

The Essential Mini Boot has been reduced from £160 to £127 in three separate colours and is one of the best bargains on offer, having been snapped up by hundreds of shoppers already.

Roman

Roman didn’t only launch their sale early, featuring everything from partywear to PJs and wardrobe essentials, but they’re also offering 99p next day delivery and an extra 10% off for a limited time meaning you won’t be waiting until new year to enjoy your purchases.

Coats have been reduced by up to 41%, including this stylish and warm faux fur aviator jacket reduced to £35 from £60.

Face the Future

If you’re in the market for discounted premium skincare, Face the Future’s winter sale is a great place to shop, offering up to 40% off on brands such as ESPA, NEOM, Olaplex and Augustinus Bader. The brand joins Boots as one of the first significant beauty sales to keep an eye on for substantial discounts on both beauty essentials and gift options, although we’re expecting Charlotte Tilbury to launch shortly too.

NEOM’s Wellbeing Pod is a sleek and compact essential oil diffuser that can give a calming presence to a room without worrying about lit candles. It’s currently 20% off and the perfect post-Christmas pick-me-up for some much-earned me-time.
