Ahead of the Boxing Day sales, winter-wear brand Oodie has kicked off its seasonal sale early, slashing prices by 50% on its unique wearable blankets. While the brand is famed for its winter warmers, shoppers are now swapping their trainers for another one of its fleece-lined products.
Self-proclaimed trainer aficionado and Manchester Evening News reporter Rachel Pugh found that while many choose brands like Skechers for comfort and support, they don’t quite hit the mark in terms of style. She stated: “So, I embarked on a mission to find a pair of winter shoes that were both practical and fashionable.
“Oodie is well-known for its hooded blankets, which have been a godsend for many looking to stay cosy at home and cut down on heating bills. I was keen to see if their footwear would meet the same high standards.”
The Oodie Black Puffer Boots, originally priced at £59 but now reduced to £29 in the early Boxing Day sale. Rachel continued: “They first caught my attention due to their similarity to North Face’s Puffer Shoes – a style I’ve had my eye on for a while. However, not only are Oodie’s boots cheaper by £7, they also feature a luxurious sherpa fleece interior lining, eliminating the need for thick socks to achieve that heavenly cloud-like feel.
“With a keen eye for both style and practicality, I made the decision to place an order and I’m absolutely delighted with my purchase. Since getting my Oodie Black Puffer Boots, I can truthfully say they’ve been a daily staple.”
She added: “They provide the comfort of a slipper, courtesy of their fleece lining and padded heel support, but also boast a rubber sole design that allows for outdoor use without concerns about leaks or wear and tear. They’re the ideal all-rounder for the autumn and winter seasons.
“Inside, they keep my feet snug as I go about my day (no need for socks) – saving me from having to turn up the heating. And while it might not sound particularly chic, they’re perfect for quick chores like taking out the rubbish, thanks to a convenient loop at the back for easy on-and-off.
“They’ve also become my first choice for numerous dog walks. Their rubber sole and waterproof exterior mean I can wander through the park without worrying about wet feet.”
Rachel continued: “I’m not one for heading out in the rain (my French Bulldog shares my diva-like tendencies and refuses to get wet), so I haven’t tested the waterproof claims, but for walks on damp grass, they’re brilliant. They’ve also become my preferred footwear for driving, sparing my expensive Nike collection from creases.
“The Oodie Black Puffer Boots have also won over my family – my mum and aunt, both in their 60s, have already shown interest in getting a pair. It seems I’m not the only one enamoured with the Oodie Black Puffer Boots.”
The Oodie website touts an impressive near-perfect five-star rating for their Puffer Boots, aside from a solitary four-star review with no lesser ratings. A satisfied customer effused: “These are very fluffy and you won’t need to wear thick socks.”
Further praise came from another client who enthused: “I bought these after my feet froze at a market I sell at. I don’t even have to wear socks and they are so comfy and warm. They also didn’t soak up the water on the dewy lawn.”
Chiming in with high accolades, a third consumer added: “I absolutely love these! If I could wear them everywhere I would. I have feet prone to being cold and these shoes keep my feet warmer than All birds and Sketchers.”
Nevertheless, amongst the swathes of positive feedback, there was one critique from a purchaser who was less enamoured with the puffa boots: “I bought the puffer boots after reading customer reviews.”
They elaborated on their disappointment by stating: “However I didn’t find them such a comfortable warm cosy fit for me, and found them to be a bit wide and slightly gappy around the unsupported heel area, but in a smaller size would likely be too small. Liked the colour combination.”
Currently, Oodie’s Puffer Boots are up for grabs at £29 during a sale event on the brands official web portal. reports the Liverpool Echo. On the other hand, if you’re scouting for something that gives off more of a Wellington vibe, Hunter’s Intrepid tall buckle snow boots in sleek black are obtainable at a marked-down figure of £125, down from their regular price of £180 on ASOS.
