Beloved duo Wallace and Gromit are making a comeback after 16 years in a new film titled Vengeance Most Fowl.

The plot revolves around the nation’s favourite cheese-obsessed inventor and his canine companion grappling with a ‘smart gnome’ that begins to exhibit a mind of its own. Concurrently, their adversary Feathers McGraw is plotting revenge and aims to thwart Wallace and Gromit.

The latest instalment is directed by series creator Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham and was filmed at Aardman Studios in Bristol.

The Mirror reports viewers can tune into Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6.10pm on Christmas Day. The film will also be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer concurrently.

The film has a runtime of approximately 70 minutes.

Ben Whitehead reprises his role as the voice of the quirky, cheese-loving inventor from Northern England who shares his home with his dog Gromit.

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will also see Peter Kay return as Chief Inspector (formerly PC) Mackintosh.

Vengeance Most Fowl boasts a star-studded cast which includes Reece Shearsmith from Inside No. 9 as Wallace’s latest creation Norbot, Lauren Patel from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie as PC Mukherjee and Diane Morgan, known for her role in Philomena Cunk, as a TV reporter.

The ensemble also features Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton, Invictus), Lenny Henry (Three Little Birds, Rings of Power) and Muzz Khan (Brassic, Galavant).

After its premiere on BBC One, the film will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer. For those outside the UK, it will be accessible worldwide on Netflix from January 3, 2025.

The official blurb for the film reads: “The eagerly-awaited feature-length film sees Gromit becoming increasingly worried as Wallace grows overly reliant on his inventions a concern that proves well-founded when Wallace creates a ‘smart gnome’ that appears to develop a wicked mind of its own.”
