Fans have started to call for Manchester City to sack Pep Guardiola as their poor form continued against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The reigning Premier League champions had gone into the game hoping to make amends after throwing away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to Manchester United last Sunday.
But City were outplayed by Unai Emery’s excellent Villa side, who won 2-1 courtesy of goals from Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers – with Phil Foden’s late strike merely a consolation.
Guardiola has won the lot during his glittering stint at the Etihad. However, his side are in freefall with just one victory from their last 12 games.

And despite everything the Spaniard has achieved, some fans have called for City to dismiss him as their torrid run of form continued.
“Sack Pep Guardiola fast!!!” were the words of one user.
A second opined: “Manchester City should sack Pep Guardiola with immediate effect.”
A fourth stated: “Guardiola has so much credit in the bank but these results are ridiculous. They have to sack him.”

Another said: “When does Guardiola get the sack? Genuinely? At what point does this become silly? 1 win 12, 13, 14????????.”
And a sixth wrote: “At this rate Pep Guardiola might just get his first sack as a manager.”
It seemed unfeasible just months ago that City would suffer like this.
But there seems to be no end to the crisis in sight, with things going from bad to worse with each passing game.

Villa were the better team throughout Saturday’s proceedings and got their opener from Duran in the 16th minute.
The striker, who was picked ahead of Ollie Watkins, converted from close range after being played through by Rogers.
Rogers actually had a spell at City earlier in his career.
And his goal capped off a terrific performance from the 22-year-old, who was a constant threat throughout.
