Aldi shoppers across the UK can expect to notice a big change in all stores and online from Monday, December 30. Ahead of the new year, the budget retail giant is expanding its range of plant-based foods.

The move comes ahead of January’s ‘Veganuary’, a challenge that sees people go without meat, eggs and dairy products for 31 days. Aldi said it will be offering its biggest vegan range ever, with prices starting at £1.49.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Whether shoppers are looking to go fully plant based or make a couple of meat-free swaps, Aldi’s range of new and returning Plant Menu products has shoppers covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And with prices starting from just £1.49, there is a lot to like at Aldi this Veganuary.”

Among the extensive list of products, Aldi is offering some kimchi koftas, tempura frickles (deep-fried gherkins), and plant-based ‘egg’. There’s also a vegan version of smoked salmon, ‘no chicken’ smash burgers, and salt and pepper ‘no chicken’ kebabs.

On top of this, cheese lovers can partake in a vegan cheese continental selection – featuring four plant-based cheeses, and ‘no pepperoni’, ‘no chorizo’ and ‘no salami’ deli offerings.

The range will be available across the UK from December 30.
