GOOD BALANCE

I was about to throw up after reading Warren Kinsella’s view on “Trump the bully” and how proud he seemed that Doug Ford stood up to said bully (“Taking on Trump,” Dec. 15). Warren is obviously still suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, but who wouldn’t be, after having “worked on the Kamala Harris campaign.” Luckily, Brian Lilley had a much more thoughtful and concise view of the same subject on the very next page (“Too tough for Trudeau”). Danielle Smith once again is proving to be the most competent leader of any premier in Canada. (I voted for Ford but he often seems to have trouble “reading the room.”)

(We present all sides. But yes, there are many Kamala supporters still reeling from such an epic loss to President Trump)

TOUGHER LAW ENFORCEMENT

The federal Liberals are all in on glitz and glamour once again with their new list of prohibited guns. They, the Liberals, would have Canadians, the uninformed, believe by updating the list of prohibited guns allowed on our streets, they are making Canadians safer. Are we safer, or is all this glitz and glamour just a real nothing because all it is doing is punishing our hunters and target shooters who do take care of their guns, are licensed to use their guns, and lock them up when not using them. The real criminals are on our streets with mainly pistols and most are repeat offenders out on bail because of the Liberals’ lack of law enforcement and weak on sentencing brought into law since they took over in 2015. Listen to police chiefs across Canada, they are all saying the same thing: We need a change in law enforcement. Most criminals are out on bail shortly after they are arrested. Change our laws back and enforce them. I do appreciate that the Liberals are sending some of these automatic weapons to the Ukraine.

(This is yet another attempt to try to push Conservatives in a corner by saying they don’t care about gun crime. The Liberals lame attempt is going nowhere)
