- GMC is marking the 25 years of its luxury Denali trim
- A special 25th Anniversary package will be available on the 2025 GMC Yukon
- The top trim now accounts for more than 26% of all GMC retail sales in Canada
GMC is marking a quarter-century of its top Denali trim, which first appeared on the 1999 Yukon and is now available on almost all GMC trucks and SUVs. In 2022, the even-higher Denali Ultimate trim was added to the Sierra and Yukon models.
As a commemoration, GMC is offering the 2025 Yukon with a 25th Anniversary Denali Package, including a black mesh grille, black mirror caps and badges, and black 24-inch wheels. The package can be added to the Denali or Denali Ultimate trims, with fewer than 3,000 available globally. These top trims are also sold in markets including Korea, Mexico, and the Middle East; and in 2025, the Yukon Denali will launch in China, Australia, and New Zealand.
In Canada, all of GMC’s vehicles, except the Hummer EV and Savana cargo van, are offered with a Denali trim, including the Sierra 1500, Sierra HD, Sierra EV, and Canyon pickups; and the Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, and Yukon XL. More than 26% of all GMC’s Canadian retail sales in 2024 were Denali trims; and in the U.S., almost one in three retail sales that year were Denali models.
The name refers to the tallest mountain peak in North America – it’s in Alaska and was previously known as Mount McKinley, named for the 25th president of the U.S. But McKinley never visited the area, and after more than a century of debate about renaming it Denali, an Athabascan name for it, the change became official in 2015. It’s common to find a topography map of the mountain as part of a Denali vehicle’s interior design.
Pricing for the upgraded 2025 Yukon, including the commemorative edition, will be available closer to launch.
