Lindt has announced that its new flavour, Dubai Style Chocolate bars, has officially been released in the UK. However, there’s a major caveat as the luxury treats are priced at £10 for a 145g bar and can only be found in four stores across the country.

In 2021, the Dubai chocolate trend started taking over social media after Fix Dessert Chocolatier founder Sarah Hamouda went viral for her fusion of modern confectionery with classic Middle Eastern flavours and regional desserts. The Lindt version quickly followed and became a big hit after its launch in New York, with some travelling from all over the globe for a taste.

The decadent chocolate mixes pistachio nuts and milk chocolate topped with a crunchy Kadayif pastry. As of December 18, the rare chocolate bar can be found in Lindt Master Chocolatiers stores in Bicester Village, Leeds Trinity, McArthur Glen in Cheshire Oaks and Bluewater in Dartford.

Unlike the Dubai Style bars released in New York, it seems the chocolates on sale now in the UK are lacking the decorative streaks of blue and lime green coloured chocolate across the top, but seems otherwise identical to its viral counterpart. It promises to make the perfect stocking stuffer and chocolate fanatics have not been holding back as some spent hours travelling to get their hands on the rare bars, which are only available while stocks last.

In November, the chocolate bars were released in Switzerland, Austria and Germany too with limited supply leading some eager fans queuing in the rain for hours in the hopes of getting one. Speaking to the Independent at the Aachen store launch in Germany, some customers revealed they’d travelled over 4,000 miles to get to the store, which only had 100 bars on offer.

Some of those that have been able to grab a few of the rare chocolates have taken to social media praising it as a “10/10”. Stefan Bruderer, Master Chocolatier at Lindt & Sprüngli said: “We’re always tapped into consumer trends and after we saw how well the Dubai chocolate craze went down on social media, we knew we had to get involved and put our very own twist on it.
