• The next-gen Hyundai Palisade will have a bigger footprint, leaked specs now confirm
  • Engine options for the 2026 model are still up in the air, but could include a V6
  • If we’ve translated this right, it sounds like a hybrid powertrain is all but a certainty

We’ve already seen images of the next Hyundai Palisade — at least, ones of the model coming to its home market and widely expected to be generally mirrored here in North America. Now we may have some insight into the future SUV’s powertrain, thanks to an Instagram fan account in Korea.

According to the account – named @owners__club_, a page which seems to take delight in posting rafts of information about Hyundai products in the Korean market despite the suspicious and generally transitory nature of all those underscores in its name handle – the next Palisade will grow in size. Expect a machine stretching just over give metres, or just shy of 200 inches in Roman Catholic.

Those measures are a good 50 to 60 mm (about 2.0 to 2.5 inches) longer than the Palisade on sale today. The wheelbase of the next Palisade is also said to jump by similar amounts. This is likely to increase both cargo space and room for third-row passengers. It should also be no surprise to anyone, given the new mandate (and measurements) given to the sibling Santa Fe in its latest iteration. That machine is 4,830 mm or 190.2 inches from bumper to bumper, and also bears three rows of seats.

If the Instagram information is correct, and accurately translated by Google, overseas markets will get a choice of gasoline-powered engines, including a 3.5L V6 making 276 horsepower; and a 2.5L turbo four good for 286 ponies. A hybrid is allegedly also on tap, making a healthy 330 horses. Whether all or any of these options make it Stateside remains to be seen.

Preliminary looks at the 2026 Hyundai Palisade reveal a machine which builds on the successes of its predecessor but takes much from the Book of Cube. Vertically stacked rectangular lamps bookend a squared-off grille, while the tail lamps are equally cubic and have more than a hint of Range Rover about them. The same can be said for the steering wheel design Hyundai is starting to use in its SUVs; this new Palisade will be one of them when it goes on sale.

While there is nothing official for the North American market, it is reasonable to expect the 2026 Hyundai Palisade to appear in dealers on this side of the pond sometime in the back half of next year.
